At this season’s Vancouver Fashion Week, Canadian designer Richard Wei unveiled the “Sea to Sky” collection as the opening show of SS26. Richard Wei draws inspiration from both urban sophistication and the natural world, weaving cultural heritage and Vancouver’s striking cityscape into a distinctive design language.
The Sea to Sky collection reflects Vancouver’s unique spirit—where mountains rise beside the ocean, and the horizon merges sky with water. It embodies a seamless transition between metropolitan life and the call of nature.
Creative Director
Canadian designer Richard Wei, based in Vancouver, brings a distinctive sensibility shaped by artistry, cultural perspective, and a deep appreciation for modern living. His design language reflects a balance between sophistication and freedom, drawing inspiration from Vancouver’s unique landscape where mountains meet the ocean and urban life blends seamlessly with nature.
His work has been featured in Vogue, ELLE, and Harper’s Bazaar, gaining international attention for a refined aesthetic and a contemporary approach to lifestyle dressing.
Opening Vancouver Fashion Week FW26, Richard Wei will present this season’s theme, City Lights. Inspired by the glow and rhythm of the modern metropolis after dark, the collection explores the interplay between light and shadow, structure and movement. Tailored silhouettes, luminous textures, and layered contrasts evoke the atmosphere of a city illuminated at night—dynamic, confident, and endlessly alive.
